Constitution
ARTICLE I: NAME
Section 1: The name of this organization shall be the San Jose
Senior Young Buddhist Association, herein referred to as Sr. YBA.
ARTICLE II: PURPOSE
Section 1: The purpose of this Sr. YBA shall be to advance the
principles of Buddhism and to promote unity and friendship among this
Sr. YBA and affiliated organizations.
Section 2: The Sr. YBA shall work in affiliation with the Coast
District Young Buddhist League, the Western Young Buddhist League, and
the Buddhist Churches of America.
ARTICLE III: MEMBERSHIP
Section 1: The membership shall be composed of persons who have
graduated high school.
Section 2: Admittance to membership shall be acknowledged when
an application and membership fee are submitted to the Sr. YBA Cabinet
for approval.
Section 3: Members must renew membership and fees which cover
dues to affiliated organizations annually.
ARTICLE IV: CABINET
Section 1: The Sr. YBA Cabinet shall have the following officers:
President
Treasurer
Section 2: Additional cabinet positions shall be added or
omitted as necessary.
Section 3: Officers may be impeached by a majority vote of the
members.
ARTICLE V: REVISIONS
Section 1: The constitution shall be reviewed and/or revised
every year by the cabinet as deemed necessary, requiring a majority
favorable vote of the current membership.
ARTICLE VI: OTHER STUFF
Section 1: The Sr. YBA will subsidize 25% of members registration
fees for YBA conferences which he/she attends.
