Sanbutsuge

Sanbutsuge is technically a gatha (song) which comes from the The Larger Sutra of Immeasurable Life. (Larger Amida Sutra). It contains the praises of the Buddha Lokesvraraja by Bodhisattva Dharmakara through which Dharmakara expresses his own desire and determination to attain Buddhahood for the sake of saving all sentient beings.

The lines that start with ‘#” are read only by the Leader. The lines with ‘@’ are read at a slower pace. Each line is composed of four Chinese characters with each character read in a beat.
