We’re in the home stretch and only need to raise $200K to pay off our line of credit. We currently have an interest only agreement until Dec 31st, so we continue to make weekly payments from our donations to reduce our debt and minimize the interest we pay. This is why we’re making such a big push. Pls keep us in mind as you make your yearend donations to take advantage of the tax benefits.
As we come to the end of the year, it’s time to reflect and prepare for the new adventures that await us. As I reflect upon this past year, I’m very proud to be part of our Sangha and humbled with all that we have accomplished. Here are a few highlights:
Raised $2,024,134 from Jan 2016 to Nov 2016. This is the most money ever raised in a single year for the San Jose Betsuin!!
Hosted 3 financial seminars, Super bowl party, created a monthly/qtrly and special communication process through the Dharma, newsletters and other media outlets
Confirmed donations from a 36% of our Sangha (as of May 2016), many internal and external community organizations and created a Donor list.
Phase I-$5.5M Annex/Gym renovation-Completed
Looking forward, change is the only constant. With that in mind, it’s time for me to step down as the Chair and from the committee. Our team has worked very hard and learned a lot and am thankful for all their hard work. It’s time for a new leader to step up and create a plan for Phase II.
