Thanks to everyone for coming out to our First Annual Super Bowl party. We had over 100 people and raised over $4K. Thanks to the Super Bowl planning committee, raffle donors and helpers. Without you, we couldn’t have pulled this off. Many were very surprised at the quality of the video and sound. In fact, several groups want to use the AV equipment for their fundraising events. This was a win/win event for all. Our fundraising committee has already started ...

I am a link in Amida’s golden chain of love that stretches around the world. I will keep my link bright and strong.
I will be kind and gentle to every living thing and protect all who are weaker than myself.
I will think pure and beautiful thoughts, say pure and beautiful words, and do pure and beautiful deeds.
May every link in Amida’s golden chain of love be bright and strong, and may we all ...

The sun felt good. Although the wind had stop blowing it was still cold in the shade. The trees were beginning to show green on the tips of branches. People, his regular customers and passers by, would be out on the sidewalks enjoying this beautiful day. Hopefully, hungry for his offerings.

He needed to find a way to support himself. He was mindful of the words of his teacher, “No work. No eat.” When his teacher became too old to ...

A big thanks to the following organizations for sponsoring a Generations Campaign fundraiser:

Sangha Support- Handmade Quilt raffle. The ladies got together and created a beautiful quilt made up of the 12 Chinese Zodiac characters. This was definitely a one of kind gift and could become a family’s heirloom.

Happy February everyone!!!

January was sure a busy month. With all the New Year’s activities, traveling and eating, I thought Feb would be a good time to take a breath and settle into the New Year….boy was I wrong. The BCA dues will stay around $107 per member which is ...

We are also going to be fortunate in having Dr. Scott Mitchell from the IBS ...

Enlightenment is not the goal of Buddhism. To become Buddha is not the goal of Buddhism. Enlightenment and being Buddha are the characteristics of things as they are. To think of enlightenment as the goal would be like taking a prescription without knowing what its for. Shakyamuni was not trying to make things more difficult, Shakyamuni shared how to resolve the difficulties we cause and experience. Those difficulties result from my inability to see things just as they are, ...
